Juliantina Tag!
Copy and paste the questions below and tag 11 (as in Episode 11 š) of your fellow Juliantinas.Ā
tagged by: @tenemos-que-hablar and @valvaldes
Part of the world youāre from:Ā San Antonio, Texas. Go figure.
When did you join the fandom: I joined early May. Toodrunktofindaurl posted the muscle car pics of the Juliantina photoshoot. I legit thought they were a couple until I sawĀ āaamā in her tags. I clicked it and here I am.
With or without sub titles: With subs because my Spanish is subpar.
Favorite interview: I donāt know if it counts as an interview, but I would definitely have to say Hoy for the announcement that shook the fandom.
Top 3 Favorite lines:
1. How do you know I wasnāt taking advantage of her?! (aka Luchoās first death)
2. I donāt agree with you. In general or your beliefs. (Blushing virgin with a lot of shit to talk about or not, I wouldļæ½ļæ½ve pulled Val into an empty room or something and fucked her senseless for repeatedly telling Montilla to fuck off every time he suggests she stay away, but most especially at that moment.)
3. Who asked for your opinion?!Ā 1) big relatable moodĀ 2.) Nobody says shit about a woman with a heart bigger than Asia
Most relatable scene: When Juliana comforts Val on the park bench. I canāt stand to see people hurting like that.
Most annoying interruption: Tied between Chivis and Lucho.Ā Chivis, for triggering Julianaās flight response so early in the morning, especially after something so beautiful. And Lucho, of course, because Val never got to use the island/kitchen-counter.Ā
F@#k / Marry / Kill? Lupita, Eva, or Lucia:Ā Fuck Eva. The hate/angry sex would be legendary. Marry Lucia, because she is scrappy and a beautiful soul. I need me people in my life that can rise up from shit like that with their head held high. Lupe, being Julianaās mother and only ādecentā family will not save you. The number of bad decisions you have made when you have a child to think about is astounding. Besides, Panchito would gladly adopt Juliana. (I donāt like FMK questions)
Personal Juliantina theme song: shiiit I have several because of the things Iām writing. In general though? I would have to say either 311ā²s or Adeleās cover of Love Song
Valentina in 5 words: soft binch absolutely no chill
Juliana in 5 words: suave as shit fite me
@ambs-writes @zags96 @aworldoftinyhipposĀ @valenjuls @nymeria-rhoynar @beatskylar @emptydrops @gracedizon @aqilahpeacebro

Memorable Memorial Weekend 2021
This was probably one of my most favorite weekends ever.
Friday, 5/28 was meant to be the day of our engagement photoshoot with Gala Photos & Films. I had a 1:30PM makeup and hair appointment in SJ before our 5PM photoshoot at the SF Japanese Tea Garden. On Thursday, I had dropped by Party City to pick up 6 24ā³ balloons of different colors because David and I were browsing Pinterest for engagement shoot ideas and came across photos of a couple posing with giant balloons and I was immediately inspired. :P I found out, however, from the Party City staff that those helium balloons wouldnāt last for more than 8 hours...so they advised that I come back the next day to pick them up. One of them rang me up and actually charged me $1.75 for each instead of the quoted $6.99. They also warned me that my Subaru Outback probably wouldnāt be able to fit 6 24ā³ balloons, so I needed a different transportation strategy anyway. I was ready to go on Friday with my balloon weights prepared (a box of stones wrapped in tissue paper and tied; and an actual plastic heart balloon weight that I had saved from who knows when). After spending a bit of time tying 3 balloons down to each weight, I stuffed them into my dadās Previa van and was about to take off to SJ for my makeup and hair appointment with Tiffany Chiang of Design Her Image...when Marc of Gala suddenly texted saying there was 1 little problem. He proceeds to tell us about the gloomy and windy weather in SF and warned that photos would not turn out well...I stopped the car right outside of South Shore Center and messaged and called David to express my disappointment. After exchanging several texts, and David giving them feedback about the last-minute communication, we decided to take their suggestion of postponing the photoshoot to Monday, 5/31 (Memorial Day) instead, when it would supposedly be sunnier. Tiffany was also able to accommodate the last-minute change and book me for a 9:30AM appointment on Monday -- whew!Ā Thankfully, I got over moping about it and wondered what I could do with 6 giant balloons that most likely wouldnāt last until Monday. Plan B: we can do our own photoshoot! We decided to invite the best men and MOHās to do an impromptu photoshoot at the lagoon behind my house, and thankfully, everybody was able to make it out and play along with our plan. :D It turned out to be a fun photoshoot, albeit it was a bit of a hassle trying to hold onto and take photos with the balloons in the wind. Andrew was kind to give up watching his bball game to be our photographer and Caroline happened to be coming back to Alameda anyway to prepare for her weekend Napa trip.Ā Sunday was the first day I stepped foot onto our Lafayette property again after our final walk-through the previous Tuesday. It was the day we got our keys (or more like, found our keys hidden there. :P)! After convincing my brother to share a U-Haul truck (he was moving furniture from his bossā sonās apartment to his own house in Campbell that same day), we drafted an itinerary to pick up a classical upright piano from Auntie Hoi Yee in Daly City --> head to SF to pick up my brotherās furniture -->Ā head to Lafayette to unload the piano --> return to Campbell to unload my brotherās furniture and return the U-Haul. Because there were not enough seats to sit 5 people in the U-Haul, I ended up driving my Subaru to caravan with the U-Haul that my dad drove all around the Bay. That piano was heavy and took quite a lot of effort, but weāre thankful we met U-Haul staff Steve Larson who warned us against picking a 10ā³ U-Haul truck that didnāt have a ramp for the piano and suggested the 15ā³ instead and gave us some rope to tie the piano to the truck inside! When Monday finally came, the weather turned out to be gorgeous everywhere. Tiffany was very detailed with her work on my face and hair even at such an early time, and the makeup and hair seemed to have lasted throughout the day. It wasnāt crazy crowded in the Tea Garden as we had feared, and despite the front-door staff stating that we needed a permit and that balloons were not allowed inside (we left them tied to a post by the entrance), we had a great time with Marc & Gia. They posed us with very detailed instructions and knew some great spots to take our photos. Marc has a great sense of humor and Gia was sweet and kind. Marc also ended up somehow grabbing the balloons in for a few photos after we changed into formal outfits closer to closing time, so we got to take some with the semi-deflating balloons that somehow lasted for more than 8 hours! David and I also got to stop by H Mart afterwards to stock up on yummy Asian snacks. Overall, it was a memorable weekend full of grace, patience, new beginnings, accommodating friends, and fun.Ā

Himanawari sa Baste (Something Unlikely at Baste)
In front of the San Sebastian Church posed a tranvia whose design was modeled from the 1890ā²s tranvia de sangre ā trams pulled by the horses. The street is quite placid and the crystal blue sky is decorated with the fluffy clouds waving at the sunlight. Not from afar a photographer could not hide their smile as they lift the camera; so did the driver of the calesa-like tram. It so happened that there is a couple having a photo shoot at that time, I guess. If you would look closely at their rather fuzzy faces, they are actually smiling; their eyes endearingly poised to one another as the gentleman extended his arm so the lady would not trip on her traje de mestiza.Ā
The piƱa fabric must have worked its magic; its sheen cannot be missed against its natural translucency, hence you can see her arms and a little of her corpiƱo (decorative sando)Ā through. As she lifts her saya or skirt, one can see her naguas de ohetes or a petticoat underneath, embellished with lace to some degree of restraint. I think thatās not her wedding dress ā they say itās unlucky to fit the dress per se before the wedding. (Well, the bodice itself is an exception and designers have their workarounds.) His barong tagalog seems to be a little paler, but nonetheless shiny to some extent. Apparently a fitting camisa de chino contributed to the opacity of the particular attire. I barely got to see the pechera or U-shaped embroidery finish on the particular attire, but it looks nicely done.
The streets the mint-colored church faces are houses that kept its vernacular shape, albeit not in the best condition they would have deserved today, or they were before. But about the church per se, its rusting steel body seemed to glow in a way. It then dawned to me that the sky was not as bright as it seemed earlier and that I must think of something else... do something...
...Yet as how I tried to get near, I cannot lift or move my POV.Ā
It turns out, it was just a dream. There are no trams actively running in Quiapo; not even in Manila! About this dream, it is something I made up. After all, this imaginary couple could have been anyone; their āprenupā could have been taken anywhere else. I might be happy for them ā for something that only exists in my imagination? Would this ever manifest in real life?Ā
Ā This is a submission for a campaign on the conservation of San Sebastian Basilica. Anyway, hereās the Tagalog translation:

Hoi Pon! i've been a fan of both your cosplay and art for a while now, and i just wanted to know how you made your grills for your Gyro cosplay? I myself am planning to cosplay him and i just wanted to know if you got any tips or such to share! Thanks for readingand have a great day/night
Honestly, Iām sorry to tell you this but I bought those grills on Ebay and they are terrible to use. They are way too big for my smol mouth and they hurt to have on for too long. Also I canāt talk when I have them in so I only wore them for photoshoots. This probably breaks the magic a little bit but itās the truth! So the only advice I have is that if you want grills you can use for longer periods of time, google tutorials. I did that when I was making the cosplay and there are a couple ones out there, I think. But I am a very lazy cosplayer so I took the easy route! If you decide to buy grills, make sure to follow the instructions for the correct way to insert them and how to use the molding clay on the insides etc. And donāt wear them for too long because they can hurt your teeth, especially if youāve worn braces like me! Good luck!Ā āvā

Couple Photoshoot in Hoi An Vietnam (https://danangphotography.com/couple-photoshoot/)
1, Photographing couple on the romantic Hoai river
Couple photoshoot in Hoi An (SEE MORE: https://danangphotography.com/couple-photoshoot)
. The scene on the pier under the boat along the banks of the Hoai River is a typical feature reminiscent of visitors to each visit to Hoi An. This is a favorite place for many domestic and foreign tourists. Hoai River is a branch of the Thu Bon River flowing smoothly in the heart of the old town, as embellishing the rustic simplicity of people here. The gentle beauty of the river makes the hearts of people strangely peaceful. Especially on the full moon days, before sunset, the two rivers, all the roads leading to the old town were sparkling with the light of the flower.
Therefore, couples often hire small boats to make photos, couples in colorful long dresses standing on the small boat. Boat slowly floating in the middle of the sightseeing line, and have just taken photos. What could be more wonderful than sitting on a small boat shimmering in the yellow color between the romantic scenery and the two of you kissing each other. This is a very romantic idea for you to mark this place in the couple photo.
2, Take a photo of a couple at the lantern street
Lanterns are a feature of Hoi An. It can be said that throughout Vietnam, there are no many beautiful and impressive lanterns like here. People hang colorful lanterns all over the porch, villages ā¦ giving Hoi An a very unique beauty. This is not only a lighting item but it is much more than that, a part of the soul of the land of Hoi An. In particular, Hoi An is most beautiful especially on the full moon nights, when the streets have lights up. Couples seem lost in a fairytale country, the couples should choose this time to make a Couple photoshoot. SEE MORE PHOTOS HERE:Ā https://danangphotography.com/couple-photoshoot/
Couples can together come up with the idea of wedding photography with colorful lanterns is nothing more beautiful.
3, Cua Dai and An Bang beach
SEE MORE PHOTOS HERE:Ā https://danangphotography.com/couple-photoshoot/
Create an album Couple photoshoot together to mark the beautiful images, frolic on the beach. Sitting on the cliff watching the waves, exchanging passionate looks, leaning on each otherās shoulders as protection. Or simply the pictures of the moment when the two are dancing and drawing together on the sand. They are also very romantic.
4, Take Couple photoshoot in the old town in peaceful morning (see more photos:Ā https://danangphotography.com
If you love the classic style, simple and romantic. The walking streets in the heart of Hoi An ancient town is a place for everyone. Early in the morning, all activities have not started, the streets are sparse, the shop is not yet open. The couple photos in a peaceful setting will be very special.
5, Ancient House ā Ancient Assembly Hall
Time covered ancient house walls, mossy alleys, curved tiled roofs, colorful paper trusses in front of the meeting room.
Perform a photo in an old house in a peaceful morning. That reminds a quiet and solemn recurrence of the past of grandparents and parents with a simple but sustainable love. How many worries tired of life left behind feeling in peace, strangely serene. All these simple things will create a nostalgic and artistic Couple photoshoot album.
6, Japanese Covered Bridge
Japanese Covered Bridge ā a unique architecture in the heart of the old town. It is a place when couples want to take Couple photoshoot in Hoi An.
Cau Pagoda is 18 m long, Architects design and build with bold oriental features. Covered Bridge imprints the time, mossy roof tiles illuminate the water ball.
Quang people have a message to the tourists from far away: āWhoever comes back from Quang land remember to visit the Assembly Hall, remember to go to Cau Pagodaā.
Couples who love history, can choose Cau Pagoda as the ideal venue for couple photos.
If you intend to take Couple photoshoot or Family photos in Hoi An, couples should refer to the selection of the 6 famous places above.
SEE MORE PHOTOS HERE:Ā https://danangphotography.com/
If you have plenty of time and want more styles in your couple photo album, you can come to Danang not far from Hoi An only about 30 minutes by car.

Thatās right, yours truly did a full-on Hoi An photoshoot with a professional photographer. Thankfully despite my initial fear of being super awkward, it was actually amazing!
I think we all know that Iām not an Instagram model that sets up elaborate photoshoots wherever I go. While I like to get a few photos here and there, I donāt bring a tripod, plan my outfits (hence, why Iām wearing the same 3 outfits in half my Instagram photos), or wear makeup because Iāll just sweat it off.
But Iāve really been wanting to get some great travel photos in Hoi An for some time now, so when Jim Grootes of Circular Media posted in an expat group looking for some models for his new photography business website, I hesitantly volunteered.
Iām not a model butā¦ never hurts to ask right?
Pin Me!
Iām Not a Model Okay?
The one time I tried out to be a āmodelā for a backyard BBQ photoshoot in China featuring āGerman looking peopleā, they hired meā¦ to be an English teacher to their Chinese staff. Yep, the one time I tried to be a model they hired me as an English teacher. Hey, at least it was a lucrative job!
Iām pretty used to people looking for non-models be in photos, only to have them turn me down for being too short and curvy. Thatās why I was actually surprised when Jim jumped at the chance to do a photoshoot with me!
It turns out Jim was a professional wedding photographer back in the Netherlands and was looking to create a business and client base in Hoi An and Danang. Non-models like me were precisely who he was looking for.
Hoi An Vibes Only
Why I Wanted to do a Hoi An Photoshoot
Iāve been wanting (and needing) nice photos of myself for my blog and social media for a long time. But I hate forcing Chris to take them for me, and letās be real, Iām usually sweaty and gross every time we go anywhere.
In addition to being perpetually damp whenever I go out, I also get a little awkward in front of the camera. I have no idea what to do with my hands, and I also dislike most ācandidā photos of myself because Iām typically posed in a very unflattering way.
Iāve watched some Youtube videos on how to position myself for photos, but I still feel super uncomfortable and I hate that I canāt see myself on the camera when Iām posing.
I realized what I really needed to do was book a photoshoot with a professional photographer. I wanted someone who could give me direction, tell me how to pose, and produce some great quality photos to use for my website.
Thankfully Jim Grootes did exactly that, and it was awesome.
Health and Body Image: Celebrating My Hard Work
Many of you know Iāve been working really hard on improving my health and nutrition. In Beijing, I had a desk job from 10-7 with a 45-minute subway commute each way every day. I sat at a desk all day and ate out for most meals, which in Beijing means large portions and a lot of oil.
I went from eating a lot of fish and veggies in Ningbo to noodles, meat, bread, and oil in Beijing. Instead of having a glass of wine before salsa dancing in Ningbo, I switched to craft beer and sitting in Beijing. My hobbies morphed from dancing 3-5 days a week to trying to squeeze in 30 minutes on the treadmill during my lunch breaks.
Slowly but surely over the 2.5 years, I lived there, I gained a bunch of weight and no longer felt comfortable in my own body. None of my clothes fit, I didnāt like photos of myself, I had no energy, and I constantly felt puffy and sluggish.
Healthy Changes in Hoi An
Over the last year, Iāve made some major changes. Now I keep track of what I eat and try to get in four servings of vegetables a day. I measure out my portions and cook most of my meals, and I understand whatās healthy and what to eat in moderation. Finally, I also cut down on my alcohol consumption a lot.
Iāve gotten very into fun exercise with my Latin dance workout videos and 3x weekly strength training at the gym! I may not be as thin as I was in my early 20ās, but I donāt think Iāve ever been this healthy in my ENTIRE LIFE.
Since Iāve been working so hard on improving my health and fitness, it was great to celebrate all of my hard work with a photo shoot. The best word I can use to describe my experience is: empowering. I felt beautiful, comfortable in my own body, and happy to celebrate all the hard work and effort Iāve put into creating a healthier lifestyle for myself.
Working with Jim Grootes From Circular Media
I made it super clear to Jim that Iām definitely not a professional model, and Iām going to need a ton of direction. I have approximately 3 poses I know will (probably) look good, and thatās about it.
Thankfully, Jim was great at making me feel comfortable. If something looked awkward heād tell me. If I was slouching too much, my hands were weird, or my angle was unflattering, heād let me know! The direction he gave me definitely made me feel much more confident. I knew heād tell me if something looked bad, so I had a fun time experimenting with different poses and shots.
Jimās girlfriend Yįŗæn Nguyį»
n was also really amazing during the shoot. Not only did she carry my purse the ENTIRE time, but she also paid very close attention to the fact that I was sweating off all my makeup, dabbing me with tissues and even reapplying makeup that she brought from home halfway through the shoot!
The yellow walls in Hoi An!
Why Hoi An is Perfect For a Photoshoot
If you want to get amazing travel, family, or couples photos on your trip to Vietnam, I couldnāt think of a better place than Hoi An. The most obvious place to take photos is in Hoi An Old Town. With all the lanterns, cute cafes, yellow walls, little alleys, the river, decorated shops and more, youāll literally never run out of good places to take photos.
Hoi An is also home to beautiful rice fields and stunning villas right on the many rivers. So if youāre looking for beautiful outdoorsy photos in a more natural environment, the Anh Mi rice fields or one of the many beautiful river villas could be a perfect choice.
You have no idea how much I was sweating hereā¦
Hoi An Photoshoot Challenges
That said, there are some things to be aware of if you are trying to get beautiful photos in Hoi An. Firstly, the sun and heat can be very intense, especially in the summer months (June, July, August). I did my photoshoot at the end of July and man it was HOT. We started at around 9 am to avoid the heat, but even then I was SO SWEATY.
Seriously, in Hoi An I pretty much never wear makeup or a real bra before 6 pm because I just canāt deal with the heat. Not only did all of my makeup sweat and streak during the shoot, but my bra was also literally soaking wet when I took it off. (Youāre welcome for that TMI).
To avoid the sun, I usually go out in the evenings. But starting around 5 pm Hoi Anās old town gets CROWDED with busses of tourists coming to see the old town lanterns light up at night, and to release floating lanterns into the river (wonder who collects all the trash from themā¦.?).
So basically the optimal time to do a photo shoot is between 6-8 am, but who really wants to wake up that early? Aside from the sweat, we managed to get some great photos by hiding in the shade from the trees and shop buildings.
Where to Take Photos in Hoi An Old Town
While we wandered around a lot of Hoi Anās Old Town, there are a few spots I really loved!
The Tiny Yellow Alley
To be honest, I have no idea where EXACTLY this is, so youāll have to wander around a little until you find it. Itās a super tight alley with yellow walls on both sides. Of course, there will probably be someone taking a photo here when you arrive. I just know itās somewhat near 92 Station on the opposite side of the road.
92 Station Restaurant and Cafe
All of the amazing photos from the balcony are shot here! Go to the 3rd floor for an incredible view with rooves in the background. The roof of 92 Station has a terrace, but itās a bit bright and much harder to get good shots up there.
Sunday Hoi An!
SUNDAY in Hoi An
This shop is extremely cute and has a little covered patio area painted pink with the āHoi An Vibes Onlyā text that you see all over Instagram. Most people think this is a random cafe, but itās actually a store. Youāre welcome.
Grab a Bicycle
Take your bicycle, or grab a random strangerās parked bicycle like I did. Hoi An is famous for bicycles, so use one as a prop!
This berry dress went well with yellow, pink, and brown/blue!
What to Wear For Your Hoi An Photoshoot
If youāre going to book a photographer in Hoi An (or take a ton of photos yourself for Instagram), I highly suggest figuring out what youāre going to actually wear so that your photos turn out well.
Firstly, you want to wear something that makes you feel comfortable and beautiful (or handsome!). Part of the reason I chose this red dress is that I love how flattering it is on my body shape. Youāll also want to consider that it will probably be HOT so wear some breathable summer clothes!
The main thing youāll really want to consider is color. Hoi An has a lot of yellow walls with bright green vegetation and some dark pink bougavelia flowers. Ideally, youāll pick a color that pops against yellow. That said, all of my favorite photos actually the ones on the balcony with all the greens, pinks and browns. I just feel like yellow is not the best color for my skin tone!
92 Station in Hoi An
My favorite colors for a Hoi An Old Town photoshoot are definitely berry or blue. I think the A. Byer dress I have is pretty perfect. But if youāre looking for more options, here are a few dresses I love!
DB Moon TShirt Dress (in light blue or white)
Azalouise Wrap Dress (in blue, light blue, or red bean would be perfect!)
KILIG Halter Neck Dress (Floral E and Floral F are my faves!)
ZESICA Bohemian Wrap Dress (any of these would look amazing)

Vietnam is Fucking Beautiful, to-be-21-soon Vietnamese Lady just realised that, How Disappointing!
Hey guys, Iām back with another blog! And this time will be a travel blog. I just have the busiest and most incredible month of the whole year, July 2018!
Things started since April when Rosie, one of my Hungry Jackās workmate back in Sydney, invited me to her wedding in Danang, Vietnam. We havenāt talked for 2 years and the invitation from her make me feel so happy. Back on the days, Rosie and I were the only two Vietnamese who worked in Hungry Jackās, then Jolie came, and we became the closest trio. Therefore, my holiday started in that way.
Since April, I planned the whole trip From Hoi An Ć Ā Danang Ć Hue. I met Hung, who is a friend of Dan - Ā one of my primary friend-, my travel partner for the trip, he took me to all the place by his motorcycle and it was awesome. The charming lanterns in the old towns from Hoi An where you can be crushed by charming Vietnamese ladies wearing their Aodai and take pictures or the to-be-married couples on their wedding photoshoots. The peaceful and safety of Danang with the mix of both modern and classic. The ancient of the Nguyen dynasty inside the imperial city in Hue. The rough Hai Van Pass that you can see through one side is the busy city and the other side is the naturally of the beaches and jungles. Finally, the local Chan May beach, where you could only hear the waving sound of the sea, blowing sound of winds, and the early morning noise of the fish market of the locals without any tourism related. Thanks to those places I realise Vietnam is fucking beautiful and charming that I didnāt realise for 18 years living in the country. I also got chances to travel with Nicole, the vaw coordinator that I have worked with in June, also catching up with Jolie, her boyfriends and mom in Hoi An.
The most important and memorable in the trip to me must be the night before Rosie Wedding. I know Rosie was so busy for her wedding, so I understood that but she still spent time with me for just couple hours at night to take me in her motorcycle and had dinner. I appreciated that moment a lot because I knew that when would be our next catching up when she went back to the US with her husband and family and I am here in Vietnam. We talked about your youth in Sydney, our life with the journey ahead, how the reality hits us hard but we are still here and try best to pass that. She knocked her bowl of Cha Siu noodles and so do I but with a beef pho and we concluded ourselves with a sentence ā We are all growing up and just following what god gives usā. When we reached back home, I felt nostalgic a lot with all the reflection back in Sydney time. As we always says nowadays, Forever Young.
There is also a negative thing happened to me. I was thinking a lot of should I writing this down on the blog or not. However, maybe it could help others to watch out, so I will write this down. Some people may get offended but just hopefully you guys can think in another way. To S, who is Jolieās Boyfriend, Iām writing this for you. I donāt care did you cheat on Jolie or not? Or you flirted with other girls or not? However, the fact that you flirted with me, asked me out right after Jolie just walked away for couple seconds and slapped my butt in the bar while Jolie was sitting next to me and so fking drunk is not alright to me. I knew you wanted to have a one-night stand or what so ever but I am not interested in type of my Friendās guy. You know I am a friend of both Jolie and Rosie. We may not be The Best Friends but we respect each other. I may not letting Rosie and Jolie know about this, because I donāt want to give negative effects to them, specially it was on Rosie wedding day, so I hope that you learnt your lesson.
Conclusion, In general, everything happened in the trip was amazing beside a small problem but it wasnāt affect me that much. These are couple photo that me and Hung took while we were in the trip.
